Fox Sports’ top broadcasting crew for the USFL will look acquainted to those that watched XFL protection on Fox in 2020. The partly Fox-owned USFL begins its season on April 16, with the opening sport simulcast across Fox and NBC; NBC will produce the pre-game, halftime, and post-game studio protection there, whereas Fox will produce the sport broadcast. And whereas we don’t have particular commentator assignments but, it looks as if that kickoff will draw Fox’s top booth. And John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reported Monday that the top booth will be Curt Menefee and Joel Klatt, the identical crew that was the community’s top XFL booth in 2020 (as seen above throughout a Feb. 8 sport):
I’ve discovered that Curt Menefee and Joel Klatt will be Fox Sports’ top USFL asserting crew this season. Menefee and Klatt will be within the booth 12 days from now when the league kicks off with a gap sport that will simulcast on each Fox and NBC.
Fox Sports is predicted to make an announcement on Menefee and Klatt inside the subsequent two weeks, together with the opposite play-by-play, analyst and sideline reporter groups for the brand new league. The league formally begins April 16 at 7:30pm ET when the Generals and Stallions play one another from Birmingham.
Of course, Menefee and Klatt produce other notable roles at Fox too. Menefee has been internet hosting the community’s major pregame NFL present, Fox NFL Sunday, since 2006 (he shared internet hosting duties with Joe Buck that 12 months, however has been the first host since). Klatt is the community’s top faculty soccer analyst. But each of these duties are fall-focused, and they each clearly have robust soccer backgrounds, and they did properly on alternate league protection two years in the past. We’ll see how they do with the USFL, and who else Fox winds up utilizing on USFL broadcasts.
