NTA unveils new website for JEE Main 2024, notifies syllabus reduction

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a significant change for the prospective candidates of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024.

The organisation has altered the website address where all official JEE-related information will be published. The new official platform is found at jeemain.nta.ac.in.

FROM NIC TO NTA

Prior to this change, the central platform for all related updates was jeemain.nta.nic.in. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) maintained the previous website.

NTA has now developed its own website independently, marking a fundamental shift in the hosting process.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE NEW PLATFORM

Every significant update regarding JEE Main 2024, including admit cards, results, and notifications will now be hosted on the new platform launched by NTA.

The NTA has created a novel platform and is currently transitioning to using its dedicated server for tasks like hosting online application forms, and generating city intimation slips, admit cards, and scorecards, a senior official from NTA elaborated in an interview with a media house.

A DIGITAL ASSISTANT FOR ASPIRANTS

In addition to hosting official updates, the new website also introduces an automated chat system that will work as an online assistant for candidates.

This useful new feature can be located at the bottom right corner of the website’s home page.

CHANGES IN THE JEE MAIN 2024 SYLLABUS

Alongside its digital transformation, NTA has also made notable changes to the syllabus for JEE Main 2024.

The organisation has reduced the syllabus by eliminating almost two chapters each from both the physics and mathematics sections, and approximately eight chapters from the chemistry syllabus.

This decision, made in response to requests from various stakeholders, removes the areas not being covered in the current Class 12 board syllabus.
