BFF VPs pay promised rewards to SAFF winners

Bangladesh Football Federation senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy and vice-president Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan Manik provided their promised reward money to Bangladesh women’s footballers through BFF six months after winning the SAFF Women’s Championship in September 2022.

‘Both our VPs paid their promised reward money, ’BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag told New Age on Sunday.

Shohag informed that Manik, who is currently abroad, sent the money – Tk 50 lakh – through his representative, and BFF disbursed the amount among the SAFF winning team members on Sunday.

Murshedy provided the same amount of money to the BFF account on Sunday and will distribute cheques among the SAFF team members in a ceremony within two to three days, said the BFF secretary.

Murshedy and Manik provided Tk 50 lakh each as reward money to Bangladesh women’s footballers after six months of promising it in September 2022 on the SAFF winning team’s return home from Nepal.

On September 21, 2022, Murshedy announced the reward on behalf of Envoy Group chairperson Sharmin Salam, while Manik, as Toma Group chairman, announced the same amount.

However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board, which also promised Tk 50 lakh, is yet to provide the reward money to the team.
