Kolkata: Dhampur Sugar Mills, represented by international players Ashok Kumar Goel, Vinay Desai, Swarnendu Banerjee, Sunit Choksi , Raju Tolani and Ajay Khare, led with 81.45 Victory Points (VPs) at the end of the fifth round of the team events at the All India Shree Cement Bridge Championship at BIswa Bangla Convention Centre here Thursday.
Dhampur was followed by Shree Cement ( 78.77 VPs), Rana ( 75.60 VPs), Arun Jain ( 75.06 VPs), Hemant Jalan ( 71.31 VPs) and Pradeep ( 70.40 VPs ).
After a slow start, Dhampur consolidated in the later rounds and went into lead at the end of the fifth round of the Swiss league. Three more round would be played after which top 16 teams will move into the pre- quarterfinals.
