DESTIN, Fla. (WMBB) – Local airline passengers have a new option for low-cost flights.
On Tuesday, Avelo Airlines announced that it is introducing nonstop service between the Destin Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) and the Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut.
The special inaugural flight will take place on Friday, May 17th.
After that, the service will consist of two lights a week on Thursdays and Sundays.
The introductory flights will start at just $79 each way.
Avelo Airlines flies next-generation 737 and serves 47 destinations in 23 states, and San Juan Puerto Rico. It also includes Atlanta, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Charlotte, Nashville, and more.
