Kochi: Renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr Lazar J Chandy, 72, passed away in the city on Monday morning.
He served as head of the orthopaedic traumatology department and senior consultant and head of the accident and emergency department, VPS Lakeshore Hospital. Chandy was a trustee of the association of orthopaedics. He held many significant positions within National and State Orthopedic Associations and earned recognition for his contributions.
The mortal remains would be kept at VPS Lakeshore Hospital between 9am and 10am on Wednesday, for the public to pay last respects.Following this the body would be taken to his home at Pullepady Road in Kathrikadavu. The last rites would be held at St. Jude’s Church, Karanakodam, at 4pm. He is survived by wife Rosamma, daughters Elsa and Marina. TNN
