Loto-Québec Incorporates Tech and Games from ODDSworks

Loto-Québec is putting effort into further improving its online gambling platform and has now teamed up with ODDSworks. The latter is a leading North American brand focusing on remote gaming server technology and digital games. Via the deal, it will provide the Crown with its BETguard™ RGS platform and its exclusive and third-party games.

Founder in 1969, Loto-Québec state-owned corporation which regulates and manages all forms of legal lottery and gaming within Quebec. This includes lottery games, casinos, gaming halls, bingo, VLTs, and the province’s only regulated iGaming platform – lotoquebec.com. Its profits are returned to the province by supporting many organizations and initiatives.

Bolstering Online Services via BETguard™

As per the agreement between the two parties, the prominent iGaming supplier will now premier its BETguard™ RGS platform and portfolio of proprietary and third-party iCasino titles with the province’s online gambling portal. Now, the Crown will incorporate distinguished online casino, table, scratch cards, and video poker games from the distributor.

As a leading RGS tech and content provider, the studio prides itself on providing first-in-class gaming content and innovative tech for regulated and real-money gambling sectors. Its BETguard™ RGS processes over US$2 billion in wagers every year in all North American markets it operates in. It also powers ODDSworks games as they are expanding into new sectors.

Stéphane Martel, Head of Product and Innovation with the Crown corporation shared a few words on the new partnership. She revealed that the lottery is pleased to bring the studio’s content to its gaming offerings. The provider’s wide selection of proprietary gable games will turn out to be a big hit for players in Quebec, believes Ms. Martel.

Meanwhile, Steven De Mar EVP for the online casino provider, commented that the firm is honoured to be collaborating with the Crown corporation in its Canadian market debut. Mr. De Mar added that the company expects great things and results which will lead to the further growth of the province’s sector. He is now looking forward to their joint cooperation.

Calls for Quebec to Launch a Private iGaming Sector

As stated lotoquebec.com is the only regulated iGaming platform in the La Belle Province but private operators are calling for the privatization of the sector. Earlier this year, Betway, Bet99, DraftKings, Entain, Flutter Ent, Games Global and Rush Street launched the Québec Online Gaming Coalition. Its aim is to lobby the local government to introduce a similar iGaming to Ontario’s.

However, Loto-Québec was not pleased with the recent calls, and the regulator criticized the coalition of private operators, as some of those offer illegal online gambling in the province. In a statement, it responded it was strange to see QOGC calling for a regulatory framework, as some of its members currently offer illegal online gambling services to Quebecers.
