At the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, the Institute of Art and Music invites applications for the

Chair (W2) of History of Architecture and Art History

to be filled as of October 1, 2024.

You (m/f/x) will represent the above-mentioned discipline in research and teaching with the greatest possible systematic breadth. In teaching, you will be responsible for lectures in the subject Art History in both German and English in the degree programs of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science. We also expect your willingness to participate in the interdisciplinary research networks of TUD and to collaborate with DRESDEN-concept partners. We would like the candidate to cooperate intensively with the Faculty of Architecture, to be open-minded towards the Digital Humanities, and to participate actively in the design and further development of the eponymous Master’s program.

We are looking for a professional with outstanding scientific credentials who can complement and strengthen the profile of our institute. You should have a proven research profile in the field of architecture as well as an additional focus, ideally in the art of the Middle Ages. Regional references to the art history of Dresden and Saxony would be an advantage. You are asked to provide evidence of your relevant research through internationally visible publications. You are expected to participate in the academic self-administration of the university and have experience in the acquisition of third-party funds. Ideally, you also have experience in science communication and public relations activities. Applicants must fulfill the appointment qualification requirements of § 59 of Institutions of Higher Education Act in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSG).
