Staples Latest Company Facing Advanced Technologies Patent Suit

Staples Inc. was hit with a suit by Advanced Technologies LLC alleging the retailer is violating its patents related to generating and tracking email campaigns, and marketing and commercial transaction systems.

Staples’ marketing system, including its email server, “directly infringes or induces others to infringe” multiple patents held by Advanced Technologies, the company alleged in a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
