Drag queens Trixie Mattel and Alaska to perform in Vancouver

The queens will be a part of the Happyland Pride Festival at the PNE.

The second annual Happyland Festival is returning to Vancouver this summer, one of the many festivities happening the weekend of August 6 to celebrate Pride.

The festival, presented by Timbre Concerts and Sunrise Series in partnership with the Vancouver Pride Society (VPS), will take over the PNE Amphitheatre and Playland Amusement Park with music, drag shows, and thrill rides.

Fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race will be able to see their favourite queens Trixie Mattel and Pabllo Vittar perform with Alaska, Slayyyter, Priyanka and other guests hosted by Venus.

Happyland will include a 19+ VIP section, a food truck area, and an alcohol-free zone in addition to the regular attractions the PNE and Playland have to offer for the price of one ticket.

Happyland’s goal is to provide “an inclusive space for attendees to fully self-express themselves while enjoying the music, performances, and community spirit” according to the event listing.

A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to VPS and QMUNITY, who help support and facilitate funding for LGBTQAI2S+ community members, events and organizations.
