Television’s Late Night host-comedian Seth Meyers mocked ex-President Donald Trump, a Republican, this night by saying, “It’s fairly superb that when Trump ran in 2016 his slogan was ‘lock her up,’” referring to the then Democratic nominee Hilary Clinton. Meyers continued, “And in 2024 it’s going to be, ‘Vote for me or I’m gonna go to jail.’” That’s due to the a number of investigations of Trump that might flip into prosecution for crimes and lead to jail time for him.
But some Republicans, together with Trump himself based on some feedback he has made currently, suppose that if Trump is operating for president within the 2024 election, and particularly if he wins it, there can be an rising chance that he wouldn’t be prosecuted for crimes maybe in any of those investigations. I doubt that might be true of the Georgia investigation.
I wrote on my weblog greater than as soon as when Trump was president that him calling for Clinton to be locked up for virtually nothing jogged my memory of Jesus’ educating about hypocrites judging others. It’s now in my book, which reads as follows:
“he claimed that former First Lady and Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton—who grew to become his Democratic opponent to win the presidency—had dedicated a felony act by utilizing her private e mail server and that she needs to be legally prosecuted for this, judged responsible, and imprisoned. This, too, was a lie. The FBI investigated it and exonerated Clinton of felony exercise previous to the election. Yet at Trump’s political rallies, he typically inspired his supporters to chant loudly of Clinton, ‘lock her up.’
“When Donald Trump exits the White House January 20th, he’ll face a large number of authorized investigations that might lead to felony fees. They embody tax evasion, financial institution fraud, insurance coverage fraud, cash laundering, unlawful political marketing campaign donations, and defamation of character. If discovered responsible, Trump might have the chickens come residence to roost by him being locked up as an alternative of Clinton. Again, Jesus stated, ‘with the judgment you make you can be judged, and the measure you give would be the measure you get.’”
Former common and Trump’s first National Security Director Michael Flynn was a giant instigator at Trump political rallies, inciting the group by yelling about Hilary Clinton, “lock her up.” Now, we realized within the final televised House committee hearings that Michael Flynn may himself get locked up for making an attempt to influence President Trump of conspiracy theories regarding voting machines, and so forth.
