Recently appointed Vancouver Public Schools Board Director Sandra Zavala-Ortega has introduced her candidacy for Position 2.
“I’m excited to proceed working with the School Board and (incoming superintendent) Dr. (Jeff) Snell to deliver our youngsters again to faculty and enhance the training expertise for all college students within the district,” Zavala-Ortega mentioned. “I deliver a novel perspective and life expertise to the School Board.”
Zavala-Ortega was appointed to the college board April 13 to fill the vacant seat left by board director Camara Banfield, who resigned in January after her appointment to the Clark County Superior Court. The Position 2 time period expires in 2021.
Since her announcement searching for election, Zavala-Ortega mentioned she has obtained an outpouring of neighborhood assist and encouragement.
“I recognize all of the neighborhood assist I’ve obtained since I used to be appointed final month,” she mentioned.
Zavala-Ortega is a mother or father of a present VPS scholar, an area enterprise proprietor, and a graduate of Fort Vancouver High School.
