Nationwide software error leads to Norwalk email and website crash

NORWALK — A nationwide error in Microsoft email servers resulted in emails despatched to metropolis workers not being delivered and subsequently despatched the town website out of types, metropolis spokesperson Josh Morgan mentioned.

The email server error started Monday and has since been fastened, however in amending the malfucnction, the town’s website, NorwalkCT.org, was garbled within the course of, he mentioned.

No resident or metropolis information has been accessed, the website was not hacked and there was no safety breach, Morgan assured.

The metropolis’s IT division spent Tuesday working to carry the Norwalk website again to order, with pages slowly regaining performance.
