Students elect 2021-22 class council, DSG senators and VPs

Students elected new Duke Student Government senators and vice presidents in a web based election Thursday and Friday.

A proposed constitutional modification failed as a result of election turnout was 19.2% and a 25% turnout was required for it to be ratified. Of the scholars who voted, 92.8% voted sure on the modification.

Vice president: Junior Meghna Mahadevan

Senators: Sophomore Sophomore Effie Mehbod, first-years Chase Barclay and Nicole Rosenzweig

Campus Life:

Vice president: Sophomore Lana Gesinsky

Senators: First-years Matthew O’Stricker and Sophie Smith

Durham and Community Affairs:

Vice president: Sophomore Swetha Rajagopal

Senators: Sophomore Alex Leo-Guerra, first-year Alexander Hong

Equity and Outreach:

Vice president: Junior Matthew Ralph

Senator: Sophomore Rachel Proudman, first-years Anthony Carmelo Salgado and Isaiah Hamilton

Services and Sustainability:

Vice president: Sophomore Hana Hendi

Senator: First-year Shreya Joshi

Class Council:

Class of 2022: President Neal Dalal, Vice President Seun Oguntunmibi

The class of 2023 didn’t elect a president. The vice chairman is Lucas Alves.

Class of 2024: President Sonali Sanjay and Vice President Christian Robinson
