Durham Maine email sever hacked, compromised

DURHAM, Maine — Town of Durham Administrator Ruth Glaeser launched a press launch Monday saying the Town’s email server was hacked.

Glaeser mentioned this occurred on Oct. 16. People are receiving emails that look like despatched by the Town and include zip file attachments. If you obtain emails from the Town of Durham, please delete them completely. The Town of Durham won’t ever request private or banking data by email.

The Town has shut down the email server in query and is working with the Town’s IT firm, BEK, to analyze and repair this difficulty.
