Barbara “Rusty” Smith handed away on Sunday morning April 18th, 2021, surrounded by her household and family members. Born in Glencoe Oklahoma, she grew up within the nation and graduated from Glencoe High School. Growing up she loved driving horses and cherished nothing extra then to cover somebody the place quiet to learn. She went on to attend lessons at Northern Oklahoma College, the place she studied medical science. As a younger grownup she moved to Savanah, Georgia the place she met the love of her life, Jim Smith. She and Jim returned again to Oklahoma in 1959. Barbara began a profession at State Beauty Supply of Stillwater, buying the shop in March of 1965. She was well-known and cherished within the Cosmetology group, operating her retailer for 40 years. Barbara’s abilities had been many nevertheless she is most recognized for being an avid quilter. She spent her free time in her quilting studio with an audio e book in her ear and ‘Murder she wrote’ on within the background. She was an especially completed seamstress attending many quilting competitions together with her shut pal Betty Simpson, the place she at all times turned heads together with her progressive types and distinctive sample combos. She was a dedicated member of the First Christian Church, quilting lovely tapestries for the principle sanctuary for every vacation event. Her second favourite previous time was spending time together with her grandchildren, whom she would educate to stitch and browse. As a devoted lady of religion, she at all times turned to God all through trials and tribulations. She was comfortable spoken, however one on one she at all times had lots to say. Preceded in loss of life by her mother and father Verlin Hesser and Marie (Upham) Hesser, and siblings Carl Hesser and Linda Apman. She is survived by her beloved husband Jim Smith; her brother David Hesser; her three youngsters, Marie Bishop (4 youngsters, 10 grandchildren), Scott Smith (4 youngsters) and Rob Smith (daughter) and quite a few nieces, nephews, cousins and mates. The household want to specific our thanks for the fantastic assist and care of Stillwater Medical Center.
